Trinity School, Croydon 11+

On-screen test (70 minutes: maths 30, English 20, verbal reasoning 10, non-verbal reasoning 10) plus a 30-minute guided written paper, on the same day.

What the test covers

  • Reading comprehension
  • Creative writing
  • Maths
  • Verbal reasoning
  • Non-verbal reasoning

Girls and boys from September 2027 (boys only before). The on-screen test is built by Quest Assessments, mostly multiple choice with no typing; maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning get harder or easier as the child answers. The written paper is a personal response to a set of prompts. The test page does not mention an interview, so check the school's website.

Official free practice material

Quest Assessments, which builds the on-screen test, has a Trinity page describing each section and the guided written paper. We have not found free sample papers from the school.

What to practise

  • Reading comprehension: Read widely every day and answer questions about what the writer means, not only what happens.
  • Creative writing: Write short stories and descriptions against the clock, then check spelling and punctuation.
  • Maths: Keep arithmetic quick and accurate, and practise multi-step word problems up to the end of Year 6.
  • Verbal reasoning: Build vocabulary and learn the common verbal reasoning question types: codes, hidden words, series and word links.
  • Non-verbal reasoning: Practise shape patterns, codes, reflections, folding and cubes until the question types feel familiar.
